Fairbanks Energy Services Opens Fifth Office with Expansion Into Denver Market

Fairbanks Energy Services, a full-service design/build energy conservation firm and leader in developing comprehensive commercial and industrial efficiency projects, announced today at the 2017 Hosting & Cloud Transformation Summit (HCTS) the next step in its domestic expansion with the official opening of its Denver office. Located at 1400 16th Street, 16 Market Square, Suite 400, Denver, CO, this is Fairbanks Energy Services’ fifth location and will serve as its headquarters for the Colorado and Greater Rocky Mountain Region.

One of the fastest growing data center markets in the United States, Denver is well-positioned for the future as demand is being created by retail colocation requirements and disaster recover needs, according to JLL. The firm also cites recent demand from a variety of industries as a factor in the area’s expansion, including: technology solutions, data management and storage, education and healthcare. At the same time, Denver is experiencing an increase in the number of employment opportunities in the technology sector, currently ranked tenth among U.S. cities in creating the most tech jobs in 2017. As a result, some of the country’s largest data center operators have moved to the region.

In addition to serving Denver’s robust data center market, the new office will also provide engineered energy efficiency retrofits to large commercial and industrial customers throughout the region, helping them leverage the complex utility incentive market while saving money and reducing their carbon footprint.

The launch of Fairbanks Energy Services’ newest office comes at a time of rapid growth for the company, which in its first two years of operation has completed more than 200 projects and grown at a rate of over 300% per year. From these figures, customers of the firm across a variety of industries have experienced annual energy savings totaling over 60 million kWh and annual cost savings over $5 million.

Leading the latest expansion for Fairbanks Energy Services is Timothy Wilcox Jr., Director of Denver Business Development. In this role, Wilcox will focus on serving the energy efficiency needs of data centers in the growing Denver market and help them take advantage of the robust opportunities for energy optimization and conservation that the region offers. Fairbanks Energy Services works closely with state and local utility companies to maximize incentives that reduce the customer cost of their energy reduction projects. Since 2014, the company has obtained more than $4 million of incentives for its clients.

“The Denver data center market has seen significant growth over the last several years and many of the industry’s largest providers have built facilities in the region,” said Adam Fairbanks, CEO of Fairbanks Energy Services. “One thing all of these companies have in common is the desire to optimize their energy usage to both reduce costs and their impact on the environment. There are a multitude of solutions, strategies and funding options available in Denver to accomplish these important goals, and our firm is excited for the opportunity to meet the impressive demand.”

Fairbanks Energy Services is a proud sponsor of the 2017 Hosting & Cloud Transformation Summit and will have representatives at Booth 31 on September 18 - 20 to highlight examples of successful energy conservation projects where the firm was able to maximize utility incentives while significantly reducing energy costs for data centers across the country.
