Fiber laser marking

In fiber laser machines, banks of diodes are used to create the fiber laser light that is channeled and amplified through a fiber optic cable, which is similar to that used in data transfer. When this amplified light exits the fiber cable, it is straightened (collimated) and then focused on the material to be marked.

In fiber lasers, the light is delivered to the desired spot on a material without the need for any expensive optical mirrors and other moving parts, unlike conventional CO₂ resonators or disk lasers.”

Co₂ laser marking

The global CO₂ laser marking equipment market is experiencing a negative growth trend as the newly introduced fiber laser marking machines are gaining popularity due to their enhanced efficiency. A surprising trend in the market is that the majority of the end-users of fiber lasers are subcontractors, while original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) account for the remaining share.
