ICFF Stages Successful Post-Hurricane Event in Fort Lauderdale

ICFF Miami, the global platform for luxury design, saw an increase of over 30% in overall attendance at its 2017 event. Held at the Greater Fort Lauderdale / Broward County Convention Center on October 3 and 4, the event attracted thousands of design and architecture professionals, and over 150 exhibiting companies.

“ICFF Miami 2017 far exceeded expectations, even with a last minute move to Fort Lauderdale due to structural damages caused by Hurricane Irma at the Miami Beach Convention Center. This move demonstrated not only the resiliency of our attendees, but the professionalism of our exhibitors. We were thrilled to host another successful and high energy event for contemporary and classic design,” said Kevin O’Keefe, ICFF Miami Show Director and SVP, Emerald Expositions.

The two-day event included a number of special features and pavilions showcasing unique design from all over the world. Originally introduced at ICFF NYC, the ICFF Gallery presented artists and artworks such as the George Billis Gallery, Tranter-Sinni Gallery, and an exciting panorama of emerging Latin American artists presented by Curator’s Art Voice Project. The LUXE interiors + design pavilion featured sought-after brands and designs, while the HD Collection pavilion explored hospitality interiors within the luxury retail marketplace.

Sessions at the ICFF Talks stage highlighted design leaders in candid discussions about their own project successes, challenges, and learning experiences. From architects to interior designers to manufacturers, each session offered unique perspectives on the current state of the industry and the future of design.

The debut of Manufactura Propia, a presentation of leading and emerging designers from Cuba, celebrated subtropical cultures at ICFF Miami. For the first time in decades, U.S. architects, designers, and developers were able to see and feel beautifully innovative creations from Cuba. Puerto Rican exhibitors were also featured at ICFF Miami, including Herbeh Wood, who auctioned off a table to raise money for Hurricane Maria victims.
