DynCorp International Awarded Region 5 FireWatch Program Contract

On July 24, the United States Forest Service (USFS) awarded DynCorp International (DI) a contract for the Region 5 FireWatch Program. The award is for one base year with four option years, and is valued at $12.5 million if all options are exercised. Performance will begin January 1, 2018.

DI will provide pilots, maintenance, geographic information system (GIS) technicians, and fuel transportation services for two USDA Forest Service Government-owned Bell 209 (AH-1) de-militarized Cobra helicopters. These helicopters perform aerial supervision and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions for initial and extended attack incidents. Work will be performed in Redding, California and at alternate field bases and in remote field locations.

This is a follow-on to a previous contract with the USFS.
