Both Ends Burning and Tyler Technologies Extend Child Welfare Software into Africa

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Nov. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Both Ends Burning and Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced that they have introduced their software-based registry, Children First Software (CFS), into three counties in west Africa - Ghana, Togo, and Benin. With the introduction of CFS into these countries, the software now has a presence in six countries around the world.

Both Ends Burning is dedicated to bringing attention and solutions to the challenges facing children living outside of family care in developing nations. Through its partnership with Tyler Technologies, it has offered CFS, which helps government child welfare agencies build, maintain, and manage accurate records of a child's identification, medical conditions, and other details for matching the child with a permanent family.

Both Ends Burning and Tyler recently visited Ghana, Togo, and Benin in Africa to release production environments, perform configuration, and conduct training of CFS. Throughout the visit, the two organizations had the opportunity to meet with various agencies to discuss the impact the software can have on child welfare. These agencies included Osu Children's Home, a state-run orphanage in Ghana; the Holy Pouponnière Claire de Lomé and Pouponnière Divine Providence orphanages in Togo; and CAPE in Benin, a police station and facility where found children are brought to be reunited with their families or transitioned to state care. In addition, the organizations met with the Foreign Minister of Cotonou, Benin; directors of NGOs and a High Court Judge in Accra, Ghana; leaders from various ministries in Africa; and local UNICEF groups.

Tyler and Both Ends Burning also participated in three local press conferences, where Minister Tchabinandi Kolani Yentchare from Togo commented on the partnership, saying, "I would like to congratulate the cooperation of Togo and the United States contingency of Tyler Technologies and Both Ends Burning. I realize that the Children First Software solution will aid in the rights of Togo children to live inside of family care."

"We're proud to be able to extend Children First Software into a new continent, and three new countries," said Mark Schwartz, who holds the dual role of executive director of Both Ends Burning, and director of consulting for Tyler Technologies. "The visit to Africa was extremely beneficial as we were able to learn about the specific challenges facing children living outside of family care in this area of the world. The visit also gave us a chance to discuss our vision with prominent leaders and strengthen our relationships with local groups that can help us make a real impact for those children still seeking loving families."

Both Ends Burning will hold their Third Global Symposium on November 6-8, 2017, in Washington, D.C, at the Mayflower Hotel. It will feature international representation from 15 countries and will conclude with a one-day Global Child Protector Conference on Thursday, November 9. The Global Child Protector Conference will offer insights on innovation and collaboration from social entrepreneurs and child welfare experts from around the world.
