PPG Completes COLORFUL COMMUNITIES Project at Arcade Comedy Theater in Pittsburgh

PPG (NYSE:PPG) today announced the completion of a COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ project in partnership with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust that helped to revitalize the new location of the Arcade Comedy Theater. The Colorful Communities program provides PPG volunteers and products along with financial contributions to bring color and vitality to communities where the company operates around the world, such as in Pittsburgh, PPG’s global headquarters city.

The project brought together more than 25 PPG volunteers, who spent approximately 100 volunteer hours revitalizing the Arcade Comedy Theater’s new home located at 943 Liberty Ave in Pittsburgh. PPG provided $30,000 to assist with the project, including 155 gallons of PPG PAINTS™ MANOR HALL® product. Volunteers brought the freshly-constructed space to life by adding vibrant yellow, blue, purple and gray PPG Paints colors to the interior of the two-story building as well as the exterior entranceway.

Arcade Comedy Theater was founded in 2013 as Pittsburgh’s only non-profit comedy theater and offers stand-up, improv, sketch comedy, variety acts, educational classes and other programming. Arcade Comedy Theater was also voted “Best Place to see Live Comedy” in 2017 by Pittsburgh Magazine.

“The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and Arcade Comedy Theater are great partners in the local community – a community where PPG has held our headquarters for more than 130 years,” said Sue Sloan, PPG executive director, corporate global social responsibility. “PPG and these organizations work to create a more vibrant, fun and engaging community, and we’re proud to complete a Colorful Communities project in the Pittsburgh area.”

The Colorful Communities program is PPG’s signature initiative for community engagement efforts, with the aim to protect and beautify the neighborhoods where PPG operates around the world. The program increases PPG’s commitment to invest in communities and supports projects that transform community assets, providing PPG volunteers and donated PPG products. In 2015 and 2016 combined, PPG completed nearly 60 Colorful Communities projects, and it expects to complete about 75 more this year.
