Wayne Hutchens Announced as President of AT&T Alabama
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Dec. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T* today announced that Wayne Hutchens has been named president of AT&T Alabama. Hutchens most recently served as AT&T Alabama assistant vice president of regulatory and external affairs.
As president of AT&T Alabama, Hutchens will oversee the company's government relations efforts in the state, in addition to working closely with community and business leaders, public elected officials and others at AT&T to continue to bring advanced communications technologies to consumers and businesses.

Hutchens began his career in 1971 as a lineman for South Central Bell. In addition to his most recently held position as assistant vice president of regulatory and external affairs for AT&T Alabama, Wayne served as director of regulatory and external affairs in Alabama and docket/issues manager for Alabama, Louisiana, South Carolina and Tennessee. He has experience in strategic planning, tariffs and economic costs and network operations.
Hutchens holds a master's degree in Public and Private Management from Birmingham-Southern College and a bachelor's degree in Business from Samford University. He is a native of Tennessee but has called Alabama home since 1983.
Hutchens' appointment was effective December 1.
