Faurecia Clean Mobility Renames R&D Center in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ind., Feb. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Faurecia Clean Mobility (FCM) has changed the name of its Columbus Tech Center to Clean Mobility Crossroads. This rebranding is a continuation of Faurecia's focus on Smart Life On Board and Sustainable Mobility.

The new name was unveiled during a celebration event held both in Columbus, Indiana, and live streamed to over 20 locations in North America, including Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Clean Mobility Crossroads is a reflection of Faurecia's commitment to clean innovation and future mobility.

"Faurecia is transforming the way it does business," said Hadi Awada, president of FCM North America. "We are changing behavior and culture."

Clean Mobility Crossroads is the latest development in Faurecia's focus on technology. Last month, Faurecia hosted the grand opening of a new Tech Center in Silicon Valley and participated in the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

"We are no longer a company that just makes exhaust systems, we are a technology company," said Awada.

Faurecia provides clean mobility solutions for all types of powertrains and is expanding its digital services to play a leading role in the zero-emissions mobility of the future.

Building on its technology expertise in aftertreatment systems and NOx tracking real time emissions in several international cities, Faurecia is committed to using breakthrough digital technology to monitor real time emissions and foster eco-mobility, ultimately making cities cleaner.

Up to 25% of emissions can be avoided with responsible driving*. For city commuters, Faurecia has created the Clean Drive application that will analyze their mobility behavior and give them personalized advice to improve their driving habits in order to reduce their emissions footprint. The app will also incentivize the driver and propose him alternative routes to avoid more polluted areas. The citizen could receive credits to benefit specific incentives from the city such as free parking, access to fast lane or discounts on public transport. Through a gamification system, the driver can also challenge his friends to be more responsible and be the best ranked. The app will be available on App Store and Android platforms.

Choosing the best routes and driving responsibly can decrease air pollution. In order to help cities to improve air quality, Faurecia has developed a city dashboard mapping air quality at street level and interacting with Clean Drive app users. To restrain the polluted areas, the city air quality & traffic control managers can notify directly citizens and implement specific incentives through the Clean Drive app.

The two solutions - Clean Drive App & City Dashboard - form a digital ecosystem helping cities and their citizens to lead to a more sustainable mobility. A mid-sized European city will pilot this solution from Q1 2018.
