Creative Commerce Agency TPN Taps Joe Scartz as Chief Digital Commerce Officer; Formally Announces Amazon Practice Group

CHICAGO, Feb. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Creative commerce agency TPN announces the promotion of Joe Scartz to chief digital commerce officer. Scartz is based in TPN's Chicago office and will continue to lead the agency's growing digital marketing, commerce + technology team, along with its tpnPRIME Group, a new Amazon practice group dedicated to optimizing brand presence and sales on Amazon. This focused group is connected to the broader digital commerce group, but operates with a special focus on driving Amazon business results for key CPG manufacturers and tech companies.

Scartz joined TPN in 2015 as managing director, digital commerce and integration. In his new role, Scartz will be responsible for further developing the agency's strategy and technologies around all things digital commerce and digital marketing, including, but not limited to: e-commerce strategy, e-tailer management, channel mapping, digital/social/mobile media buying and planning and execution. Scartz spent the past two years recruiting top-tier talent and building a highly-specialized staff to deliver reimagined solutions across the entire commerce landscape.

Prior to joining TPN, Scartz was president of an e-commerce start-up focused on helping brands manage their e-commerce business for giant retailers. He previously spent eight years at Critical Mass in Chicago.

"As the dynamic retail landscape continues to transform at a rapid speed, it's imperative that our agency evolve, not only to keep pace with technology, but to outpace the demand. Investing in digital commerce is essential," said Sharon Love, TPN's chief executive officer. "Joe's leadership, focus on innovation and expertise will help provide our clients with connected experiences that deliver a more integrated brand experience across channels and touch points."

tpnPRIME -- Amazon Strategy and Optimization Practice Group
One of many innovations Scartz has spearheaded is the growth of TPN's digital commerce practice and team of experts. The agency formalized the discipline last year, and it now announces that the new tpnPRIME team will be staffed and dedicated to building strategies, planning and delivering optimized solutions to Make the Buy Happen on the world's largest e-commerce and marketing platforms, with a focus on Amazon.com.

"The convergence is here: Amazon is not just another retailer; they are a digital content provider, a go-to product search destination and a powerful marketing channel," Scartz said. "Fifty-five percent of consumers begin their product research on Amazon.com(1), so the question for brands is no longer whether they should be present; it is how to maximize their business potential on the platform."

"Our talented digital commerce team has the expertise and resources to build reimagined e-commerce experiences with an eye toward engagement and activation," Love said. "By formalizing this growth area, we will provide our clients with the dedicated team and resources they need to take their e-tailer brand experiences to the next level."
