Sherwood Ford Sponsors Athlete in the World's Longest Hockey Game

SHERWOOD PARK, Alberta, Feb. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The World's Longest Hockey Game is returning in 2018 and local dealership, Sherwood Ford, has pledged to donate five dollars every time Dustin Nielson of TSN 1260 scores a goal. The dealership has decided to up their ante this year in hopes that other local businesses will follow suit and raise their donations as well. All of the money raised from the World's Longest Hockey Game will be donated to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

The World's Longest Hockey game started in 2003 as a way for Dr. Brent Saik to pay tribute to his late father. Dr. Saik has also founded the Annual Terry Saik Memorial Golf Tournament and thought that a hockey game would be another way to bring people in the Edmonton community together to raise money for cancer research and treatments. The World's Longest Hockey game will last from February 9th until February 19th and will feature many local athletes who have donated their time to play for a cause.

In the past, donations from the World's Longest Hockey Game have exceeded one million dollars and have greatly helped the Alberta Cancer Foundation acquire new equipment as they attempt to treat and eventually cure many different forms of cancer.

Those who wish to learn more about the World's Longest Hockey Game may do so by visiting Sherwood Ford's website, www.sherwoodford.ca.
