LOS ANGELES, March 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Stephen E. Gill, Chairman & CEO of The Gill Corporation, is being presented with the Fourth Annual Gilbert W. Speed Award, honoring outstanding leadership and collaboration across the global aerospace and defense supply chain. Stephen Gill is the fourth winner of the award which was presented today by the Aviation Week Network at its 32nd Annual SpeedNews Commercial Aviation Industry Suppliers Conference in Beverly Hills, CA.

Stephen began working at the family business (The Gill Corporation) at age 14. He attended the University of Southern California and during his college years continued to work summers at the corporation. In 1965, Stephen graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. After college, Stephen joined The Gill Corporation on a full time basis. He began as leadman for line #2 and worked his way up through a series of positions where he was exposed to all facets of the business. In 1991, Stephen stepped into the role of CEO and executed a corporate growth strategy that involved facilities expansion and strategic acquisitions that included Castle Industries in California, Alcore Brigantine in France, Alcore Inc. in Maryland and Insoleq (The Gill Corporation, Europe Ltd.) in Northern Ireland. The Company has grown in sales from $18 million in 1993 to over $260 million in 2017. Stephen currently serves as Chairman and CEO. The Gill Corporation is headquartered in El Monte, California and employs over 1000 personnel worldwide.
