'Come to Japan' Booth at Japan Week Event Features Japan Trip Giveaway & Virtual YouTuber Kizuna AI

NEW YORK, March 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) New York Office's 'Come to Japan' Campaign will be participating in Japan Week event at New York's Grand Central Terminal. The campaign booth will be designed after Kizuna AI, a popular virtual YouTuber from Japan with over 1.5 Million subscribers who is serving as the campaign ambassador.

Japan Week is a free event open to the public that will be held in the Vanderbilt Hall in New York's Grand Central Terminal from March 14-17, 2018. In addition to showcasing the splendors of Japanese culture, food, and modern art, 3D Trick Art that visitors can "step into" and take selfies with will also be available.

Visitors can also take selfies at the 'Come to Japan' Campaign booth using the life-sized Kizuna AI panel on display. The campaign booth will also showcase videos featuring Kizuna AI as a guide introducing Japanese culinary culture, technology, hot springs, and other charming parts of Japan. The same videos have been available on the campaign website and have already generated a total of 85,269 YouTube views.

A drawing for a pair of round-trip plane tickets from the US to Japan will be held at the Kizuna AI Campaign booth. Entry is free, and 400 visitors can enter the drawing per day during Japan Week. To enter the drawing, visitors must "like" the Visit Japan Facebook Page and share the 'Come to Japan' Campaign page on Facebook or Twitter. The first 400 visitors to show booth staff their smartphones or other devices indicating that they have liked and shared the page will be able to enter the drawing. Other prizes include gift certificates that can be used on Tokyo Otaku Mode's TOM Shop, Alpacasso plushies, and Kizuna AI pins. Visitors can increase their chances of winning by also participating in the online 'Charms of Japan' quiz available on the 'Come to Japan' campaign website. Those who complete the online quiz will be able to enter the sweepstakes for a chance to win a pair of round-trip tickets to Japan, a Kizuna AI prize package, or an Alpacasso plushie. Videos and articles about the delights of Japan, as well as a section with photos of Japan submitted by users through Instagram, are also available on the Come to Japan website.
