REV Group and ZeroRPM Announce an Alliance to Provide Idle Mitigation Systems® and the Revolutionary Ambulance of the Future

REV Ambulance Group announced that it has entered a strategic alliance with ZeroRPM as part of its initiative to deliver the revolutionary ambulance of the future to REV dealers and customers.

Ambulances are high-idling vehicles due to their required operating behaviors. The data indicate that ambulances can spend over half of their operating day idling, which means that, every year, they burn thousands of gallons of fuel, emit tons of harmful toxins, and generate the equivalent of over 30,000 miles of additional engine wear per ambulance. The REV Ambulance Group can now deliver the right solution to help eliminate unnecessary idling to reduce pollution, fuel consumption, and associated health and environmental risks.

Operates as if the Engine Were on When the Engine is Off

“We are pleased to offer this versatile idle mitigation system in our brands, including AEV, Horton, Leader, Marque, McCoy Miller, Road Rescue and Wheeled Coach,” states Bob Collins, president of REV’s Ambulance Group. The ZeroRPM system provides dealers and customers with a hybrid ambulance at the worksite, allowing the vehicles to continue their operation when the engine is off.

When the engine is off, cab comfort and vehicle operation continue through ZeroRPM’s automated system in all basic equipment, such as vehicle heating and cooling systems, lighting, communications equipment, computers, refrigeration for medication, and life-support equipment. With ZeroKEY™, the ambulance is always secure when in idle mitigation mode, even when no one is in or around the vehicle. When idling is prohibited, all IMS products for ambulances come with ZeroIDLE™, which prevents the IMS from starting the engine automatically in a no-idle zone.
