Gigaphoton Obtains 70% Market Share* in China

Gigaphoton Inc. (Head Office: Oyama, Tochigi; President & CEO: Katsumi Uranaka), a leading manufacturer of light sources used in semiconductor lithography, announced that Gigaphoton has obtained 70% market share* in China through steady efforts, the opening of a support office throughout China, the promotion of our light source products for the high-end market, and supporting enhancements for legacy tools.

Gigaphoton expanded business into the Chinese market in the second half of 1990’s, establishing 10 support offices and one training center in major locations including Beijing and Shanghai. Over the past 20 years Gigaphoton has provided detailed support of its ever growing installed base of cutting edge and legacy tools through continuous effort enabling the capture of 70% market share in China today. Gigaphoton’s market share in China, especially for its high-end ArF immersion systems is expected to further increase as a result of a strong reputation from chipmakers obtained due to the superior performance, availability and cost performance of its installed base.
