LONDON, June 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ --

We are delighted to announce and welcome the next 11 companies to the 2018 Tel Aviv Barclays Accelerator, powered by Techstars.

The programme, which has been running since 2014, has become one of the most selective FinTech accelerators in the world, with a growing list of alumni that are shaping the future of financial services. This is the 3rd cohort in Tel Aviv, and the 11th globally.

The successful candidates - unveiled during a launch event at Rise Tel Aviv, fought off competition from more than 200 applicants, representing 39 countries.

This is the first week of the programme, which will run for the next thirteen weeks. Demo day will take place in Tel Aviv in the first week of September, where the investor community will get the chance to hear our FinTech companies' pitches first-hand.

The Barclays and Techstars partnership

The programme brings together two powerful networks: Barclays, the transatlantic consumer and wholesale bank with over 325 years of history and expertise in banking, operating in over 40 countries, and Techstars, the worldwide network that has 1,300 portfolio companies who have raised over $4.6 billion in capital. Together, the two companies open up their extensive global networks of mentors, entrepreneurs, partners and clients, to give each company the best chance to succeed.

Michal Beinisch, Innovation Officer for Barclays Israel said: "We're thrilled to be launching the 3rd cohort of the Barclays Accelerator, powered by Techstars in Tel Aviv.
