Former IBM Digital Commerce Development Lead, Leho Nigul Joins Elastic Path as Vice President, Product Development

VANCOUVER, B.C., June 25, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Elastic Path, the world's leading provider of enterprise API commerce solutions, today announced that former IBM Digital Commerce Development Lead and Master Inventor, Leho Nigul has joined the company as Vice President of Product Development.

The announcement follows the recent expansion of Elastic Path's leadership team to include former IBM WebSphere Commerce executive and pioneer of experience-driven commerce, Darin Archer, as Chief Marketing Officer.

"Thanks to our recent $43 million in growth funding , Elastic Path is now in hyper growth mode," said Harry Chemko, CEO, Elastic Path. "We're committed to expanding our research and development team. Leho's depth of commerce industry knowledge, product architecture and development experience will be instrumental to advancing our product vision."

At IBM, Nigul led Digital Commerce product development, managing teams across the U.S, Canada, Europe and Asia. He was responsible for moving WebSphere Commerce to a SaaS solution based on a completely new, dockerized microservices architecture. Nigul held several other leadership roles during his 17-year tenure at IBM, including Principal Development Architect for WebSphere Commerce and Chief Architect for IBM Commerce on Cloud.

"What excites me the most about Elastic Path Commerce is its API-first approach. Five years ago, Elastic Path's product architects took what was then a big leap to constrain their APIs to meet full REST-Level 3 requirements," said Nigul. "This created the first truly headless commerce solution on the market. Now every commerce software vendor is scrambling to catch up. I'm looking forward to guiding Elastic Path's exceptional product vision and team."
