Sterling Ranch Welcomes 100th Family to Master-Planned Community

DENVER, June 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Sterling Ranch, a master-planned community located in northwest Douglas County just south of Downtown Denver, has welcomed its 100(th) family. This milestone comes less than a year since the community celebrated its grand opening in August of 2017. An additional 200 homes are also under construction, with the population anticipated to reach 600+ residents before the end of 2018.

In its 10 months since opening, the community has grown significantly, noting a total investment of $500+ million on its 3,400 acres of land on track for 2018. Infrastructure investment has been the most significant to-date, with roads, water systems, electrical and technology infrastructure already built out for its entire first Providence Village neighborhood. Providence Village is slated to host nearly 800 homes upon completion, which is anticipated to reach its full buildout by 2020.

"We are so thrilled to be watching the community of Sterling Ranch come to life with this group of vibrant residents, as building homes is just one small part of community building in our minds. The real 'community' takes shape as these families become connected, a part of a special neighborhood and this place becomes somewhere they make shared memories and new friends. We're enjoying watching that happen and being a direct part of it week in and week out," said Harold Smethills, managing director of Sterling Ranch.

The first one hundred homeowners in Sterling Ranch were welcomed into the community's Pioneer Club, an organization designed to help connect residents and influence the future of Sterling Ranch. The Pioneer Club has met bi-monthly since September of 2017, learning about on-site partnerships and regional opportunities from leaders at the Chatfield State Park, the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield, as well as onsite at Sterling Ranch. Through this Club, each family has had direct access to the development team and to the community's key partner organizations, as they have settled into their new homes.

"It's been wonderful to be a part of shaping this community," said Heather Calme, a resident and Pioneer Club facilitator. "These families are invested in Sterling Ranch and the environmental and technology philosophies that have driven it. We are all really enjoying the opportunity to set the tone for an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere."

Sterling Ranch's first commercial building, The Sterling Center is also nearing completion, with a grand opening slated for this fall. Further lifestyle amenities are also beginning to be added, with three playgrounds and numerous miles of trails already built and a recreation center breaking ground soon. Expanded trails, dog parks, churches, schools, swimming pools, and commercial retail offerings are all in various stages of further development as the community grows to support its ongoing population expansion.
