RDA Modular Unveils 3D Printing-Injection Solution to Current Housing Crisis

LONDON, July 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- RDA Modular (https://www.rda.global/index.html) recently announced plans to build a new factory that implements their 3D printing-injection construction process to address the current global housing crisis. Acknowledged industry leaders in state-of-the-art 3D printing methods for premium and affordable construction projects, RDA recently opened up an investment and fundraising round. Investors can contact Ahad Miah (ahad@rda.global) for more information.

You would not build a car in a field -- so why a house?

Using state of the art technologies and offsite production techniques, RDA ultimately plans to build several factories capable of manufacturing 6-8,000 houses each. An average three or four-bedroom house tends to take anywhere from six to nine months to build, but RDA can build the same or better house in seven to ten days. These modular houses are both high quality and affordable.

RDA Modular spent the past few years developing new technologies for design and building automation for offsite production. Residences are constructed using very low carbon footprint materials, 3D injection and 3D printing technology and use up to 75 percent less energy than conventional building projects.

RDA's construction projects routinely:

    -- have larger windows
    -- higher ceilings
    -- more space
-- more premium features than typical homes
-- and cost far less than traditional construction

This is largely possible due to the latest technologies and developments in material sciences, robotics and industry 4.0 automation, as well as established partnerships with global chemical suppliers.

Last Titan of Industry

"Construction is the final titan of all industries to be disrupted by technology. To make high-quality houses that are significantly more affordable is quite the challenge; we had to think far outside the box," Chairman David Hudson said.

"We took a long hard look at 3D printing alone, but its slow speed, low quality and zero certification didn't meet our or modern housing needs."

No Free Lunch

Our R&D showed excellent results using 3D injection instead of 3D printing. However, we found out, there is no such thing as a free lunch. The injection machinery adds two zeros to the price of the 3D printing equipment," Chief Scientific Officer Romy Jardine said.

Solutions that seek to adequately address the housing crisis must be both affordable and efficient. Being an industry leader in the 3D printing-injection construction market, RDA Modular decided that automated off-site manufacture of modular housing was the best solution for the nearly 2 billion homes estimated to be needed globally over the next 80 years, due to population growth.

About RDA Modular

RDA Modular is a technology disruptor pioneering the mass manufacture of affordable housing. Developing 3D printing-injection, robotics and automation to reduce costs. RDA works with a simple philosophy: the off-site mass production of housing must pair cost effectiveness with speed, efficiency, quality and precision. Learn more at www.rda.global.
