SAIC Earns VMware Validated Design Certification for Software-Defined Data Center

Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) announced today that the company has joined the VMware Ready Certified Partner Architecture program for its Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) architecture.

SAIC has developed an SDDC architecture and completed the deployment of an active-active configuration across SAIC’s data centers using VMware’s automated Deployment Tool Kit (DTK). This initial internal capability is directly applicable to SAIC customers looking to deploy SDDC architectures within their current and future data center.

“SAIC is pleased to join VMWare’s Certified Partner Architecture program, giving us access to VMware’s DTK. The DTK coupled with SAIC’s certified architecture enables us to help our customers to achieve their cloud goals quickly and efficiently regardless of the type of cloud structure,” said John Walsh, SAIC senior vice president and general manager of the Information Technology Solutions Market Segment.

This capability provides a significant reduction in risk and schedule by deploying an SDDC capability more efficiently and in an automated and repeatable fashion. SAIC is one of 10 companies globally with this designation, and the VMware’s Validated Design Certification forms the basis of SAIC’s software-defined Infrastructure, cloud brokerage, and cloud managed services offerings, providing SAIC with a highly capable cloud management platform certified by VMware through rigorous testing.

VMware established the Certified Partner Architecture program to ensure that their Validated Design team verified and rigorously tested SDDC architectures produced by VMware Partners.
