CertainTeed CEO Calls On Industry Colleagues To Support Homes For Our Troops

MALVERN, Pa., July 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Severely injured post-9/11 Veterans often need assistance to lead normal lives. For 14 years, Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) has been building and donating specially adapted custom homes to help ease daily home life for these service members and their families. CertainTeed has been a dedicated partner of HFOT, donating roofing, siding, gypsum and insulation to help make this great work possible.

Recently, when HFOT reported a shortage of crucial supplies, including lumber and concrete, CertainTeed President and CEO Mark Rayfield called upon his industry colleagues to step up to the challenge and help the cause: "I ask that our industry partners who supply lumber and concrete consider supporting this effort by donating products. Let's see what we can achieve together by Labor Day!"

As a leading North American building products manufacturer, CertainTeed has been a dedicated partner of HFOT, donating an extensive portfolio of products to approximately 120 of the more than 250 homes completed by the HFOT initiative. Over the past five years, CertainTeed's involvement has become more formalized as it has been named the exclusive provider of roofing, insulation, drywall and siding/outdoor living products. And the relationship has become more personal, too, as many CertainTeed employees have participated in community build events.

"Working with Homes For Our Troops to support both our Veterans and our communities is one of the most fulfilling activities we have undertaken," said Rayfield. "I highly encourage other business leaders to help us pay it forward to service members and their families."

Thanks in part to the wide range of products CertainTeed donates to HFOT, Veterans will have access to a variety of innovative and reliable options to seamlessly coordinate a home tailored to their personal taste. Each home is engineered to provide complete comfort, going beyond ADA compliance.

"Having CertainTeed as a National Partner has been a phenomenal experience for us," said Bill Ivey, Executive Director of Homes For Our Troops. "Its product and in-kind donations are crucial to our mission of building and donating specially adapted custom homes to severely injured post-9/11 Veterans. We look forward to continuing our work with CertainTeed and its dedicated employees."

About Homes For Our Troops (HFOT)
Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a privately funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide to severely injured post-9/11 Veterans. Most of these Veterans have sustained life-altering injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent has gone directly to our program services supporting Veterans. For more information, visit www.hfotusa.org.
