Mi9 POS Solution Passes Electronic Retail Software Certification NF525

MIAMI, July 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Mi9 Retail, a leading provider of omni-channel retail solutions is proud to announce that its point of sale (POS) platforms have passed the rigorous Infocert certification program to comply with the French fiscal law. The French government introduced this new fiscal law that took effect on January 1, 2018, and it requires all retailers in France to use POS systems that comply with specific standards designed to reduce VAT fraud. POS devices in France must now comply with the five main principles of the law including being certified by a government authority. Retailers with non-compliant POS systems will be subjected to fines of EUR 7,500 for each applicable software or cash register system until the certification is confirmed. To meet the needs of its existing and future customers in France, both Mi9 Retail POS products satisfy all of the requirements set by Article 88 of the 2016 Finance Act through the Electronic Retail Software certification NF525 provided by AFNOR.

All sale transactions have a unique digital signature and should be saved in real time. Once archived, the transactions cannot be altered or modified. A secure archive must be maintained and exportable for seven years to the fiscal authorities. What's more, an electronic journal must be maintained for all transactions, and reports must be available by registered devices on daily, monthly, and yearly bases to the fiscal authorities.

The Mi9 Retail POS fiscal engine integrates with the EFSTA Electronic Fiscal Register "EFR" to validate, digitally sign and record all sale transactions in a secure cloud-based repository. All daily, monthly and yearly reporting is available via EFSTA Web Portal. Keeping track of all transactions data is critical to the success of the law. Data archiving, journal and reporting are available from the EFSTA Enterprise Cloud solution via the EFSTA Web Portal to meet this requirement. Based in Austria, EFSTA is specialized in fiscal topics across Europe.

Mi9 Retail POS allows retailers to complete trade transactions while connected to the cloud and offline and still comply with these fiscal regulations. "Complying with local legal requirements and ensuring the security of our systems is of the upmost importance to us, so we regularly invest in research and development to provide retailers with the most up-to-date technology," said Neil Moses, CEO of Mi9 Retail. "Thanks to the EFSTA fiscal solution, our customers will avoid complicated and expensive data storage, encryption, and data recovery requirements, enabling them to both gain a competitive edge and get a quick return on investment," he concluded.
