Former WMAR ABC 2 Weatherman Wyatt Everhart Moves to Solar Energy World

BALTIMORE, July 16, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- WMAR ABC 2's longtime Chief Meteorologist and host of Midday Maryland, Wyatt Everhart, has recently joined Solar Energy World as a Solar Analyst, serving the residential and commercial markets across the state of Maryland. Solar Energy World is a leading provider and installer of solar panel systems in the Mid-Atlantic region.

In this new role, Everhart will be advising businesses and consumers on how switching to clean, renewable solar energy will help them save on electricity costs. With the environment a top concern for many, coupled with rising energy rates, Everhart felt this was the right move. "By making a move out of television weather and going into solar now, I get to use my meteorological background to help homeowners and small businesses save significant money on power, and at the same time help clean up the environment by improving the quality of the air we all breathe. It's truly a win-win." notes Everhart.

Continues Everhart, "I could have gone to work for any solar company, but choose Solar Energy World not just because they are Maryland's number one installer, but also because they walk the walk, relying on the sun to power the majority of their Elkridge-based headquarters."

"I first met Wyatt when he attended the grand opening of our solar showroom, the first of its kind in Maryland," says Geoff Mirkin, CEO of Solar Energy World. "I could tell right away that he was sharp, energetic and very interested in renewable energy. We couldn't be more excited to have him join our team to help shine the light on the benefits of solar for our community."

Before coming to Baltimore to join WMAR-2 News in 2008, Everhart's broadcast career took him to stations across the country, including WJBK-TV in Detroit. He has also been honored to receive multiple awards his work, including an Emmy, as well an AP Award from the Chesapeake Broadcasters Association.

Before entering the world of television, he served as a navigator in the United States Coast Guard - earning the Humanitarian Service Medal and Special Operations Ribbon for missions off the coasts of Haiti and Cuba.

Everhart graduated with a BS from Salisbury University, and earned his Master's Degree in Geoscience and Meteorology from Mississippi State University.
