Policy & Communications Firm HBW Resources Managing Partner David Holt to Keynote Summer NAPE Conference Today

David Holt, Managing Partner of HBW Resources, a strategic policy and communications firm, will keynote the Summer NAPE conference today, Aug. 15, 2018, in Houston.

Holt will speak on “Future Policy Implications for the Energy Industry and the Importance of Advocacy,” from 9:10 a.m. to 10 a.m. CT, at the George Brown Convention Center in Grand Ballroom B, 3rd Floor. His keynote will help kick off the conference, which brings together national upstream decision makers and investors in the oil and gas industry.

In his address, Holt will discuss how energy continues to be a key discussion point at the local, state and national levels — especially leading up to this November’s election season — and the steps local, state and federal policymakers can take to help achieve the U.S. work towards energy self-sufficiency.

Holt will also touch on the following hot-button industry topics in his presentation:

  • How companies can help meet the fast-growing energy needs of families, businesses, manufacturers, and more
  • The importance of education in advocating for affordable, reliable energy
  • The issues and implications of working in the energy space and how these can impact short- and long-term industry decisions

“It’s an honor to speak at this year’s Summer NAPE conference and address how the discussion around affordable, domestic energy — a necessity for households and businesses nationwide — has become increasingly polarized in today’s shifting political spectrum,” Holt said. “External, open dialogue about energy — and the dangers of high energy costs to Americans — must be expanded to reclaim the energy narrative and include all members of our communities.”

Holt added: “With the transformation of the U.S. energy industry and many important policy and regulatory decisions ahead, it will be critical for companies and organizations to support the communication of pro-energy messages from the public and opinion leaders to policymakers.”

Holt has over 25 years of experience working for state and federal agencies, plus Congress. Prior to founding HBW Resources, in 2005, he previously served as Vice President of Government Affairs for Hart Energy Services; Senior Legal & Energy Counsel to Chairman James E. Nugent at the Texas Railroad Commission; Counsel to the House Judiciary Committee; and in the Public Affairs & Media Office of the U.S. Department of State, under then President George H.W. Bush.

At HBW Resources, Holt provides counsel and guidance on government and industry energy initiatives including energy security, advanced technologies, exploration and production, air quality and refining. He also manages a variety of national, regional and state energy advocacy campaigns, via stakeholder, media and grassroots efforts.
