Indiana Fiber Network Becomes Intelligent Fiber Network, Positions for Future Growth

INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A leader among Indiana's commercial fiber broadband providers, Indiana Fiber Network relaunches today as Intelligent Fiber Network (IFN). IFN's rebrand to Intelligent Fiber Network draws on the company's 16-year history of providing state-of-the-art technology services to independent telephone company owners and other telecommunications providers across Indiana, as well as business direct customers, and positions the company for growth in today's digitally focused world.

"From 5G to IoT, high-speed connectivity is changing the way industries across the world operate," said Jim Turner, IFN president and CEO. "Every sector of the economy - agriculture, manufacturing, health care, government services, education and telecommunications - is adapting this technology to serve their customers more effectively and efficiently. To enable these industries' increasing demands for bandwidth, IFN must continue to evolve as well and encourage new and old partners alike to embrace today's disruptive technologies."

IFN provides Internet backbone, data transport and colocation solutions to telecommunications providers and business direct customers such as hospitals, schools, financial institutions and government facilities. The new company name, branding and updated website reflect a company that has grown significantly in the past several years. IFN intends to accelerate its pace of growth further by expanding its network beyond its legacy partnerships, both inside and outside the state of Indiana.

"IFN has achieved strong, double-digit revenue growth in recent years, and we have expanded our staff by nearly 30 percent in just the past 15 months," explained Turner. "We believe there are significant growth opportunities in Indiana, and we're also opening the door to opportunities outside of the state, as well as with additional investors and partners. Launching this modern brand signals our intention to the market and positions IFN to meet these expansion goals."

IFN's rebrand to Intelligent Fiber Network is part of the company's continuing commitment to provide the sophisticated, high-speed fiber backbone for which it has been known, while more accurately reflecting IFN's current business operations and vision for the future. IFN plans to invest up to $100 million over the next five years in Indiana alone, adding to its more than 4,500 route miles of fiber-optic cable in 456 Indiana cities and towns.

In 2018, IFN also announced a multi-year, multi-million-dollar network upgrade across Indiana. The upgrades increase capacity, improve stability, and add operational and network efficiency; all of which are geared toward enhancing customers' service experience. The hardware upgrades are set to take place in phases over the next two years. All four phases of the 2018 segment have been completed and additional phases of the project will begin in the first quarter of 2019.
