Premier Oilfield Group Names Sau-Wai Wong As VP Of Technical Software
HOUSTON, Sept. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Sau-Wai Wong, most noted for his geomechanics work with Shell, recently accepted the position of Vice President of Technical Software at Premier Oilfield Group.
Among his responsibilities at Premier, Dr. Wong will lead the continued development of its hydraulic fracturing software StimPlan(TM), used for the design, analysis, and optimization of hydraulic fracturing operations. He joins Dr. Mike Smith, recently named by SPE as a "Legend of Fracturing", and Frank Zamora, an industry leader in oilfield fluid systems, on Premier's flagship stimulation solutions team.
Wong's career spans more than thirty years, working in ten different countries. He completed multiple assignments for Shell International E&P in the Sultanate of Oman, the Netherlands, Malaysia and the USA. In the USA, he was the Subsurface Technology Manager for Unconventional Oil and later the Research & Development Manager for Unconventional Gas Technology. He also held the position of Principal Technical Expert in Geomechanics for Shell's worldwide operations. He is also the founder of Rybkarock, a Houston-based production engineering and geomechanics consulting firm.
Dr. Wong has authored more than sixty publications and patents and served as a Society of Petroleum Engineers Distinguished Lecturer on "Geomechanics - A missing link in Reservoir Management".
