Shady Grove Fertility Physicians Bring Fertility Education to Local Communities to Help the One in Eight Couples Who Will Need Help to Conceive

ROCKVILLE, Md., Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Given that fertility treatment outcomes are more favorable with early diagnosis and treatment, Shady Grove Fertility (SGF) remains committed to its core mission of fertility education and spreading awareness about infertility through their ongoing event series. Throughout the months of October and November, the practice will host 19 in-person seminars and 14 virtual webinars on topics ranging from what to expect when you're not expecting, financial options for affording fertility treatment, LGBTQ family planning, egg freezing, weight and fertility, and much more. Each event concludes with a question and answer session so that attendees have the opportunity to get their questions answered by the practice's physician experts.

For couples who aren't sure if they have infertility and whether they should see a fertility specialist, the event "What to Expect When You're Not Expecting" will address those questions. During the seminar, attendees will learn how infertility is defined, common causes of infertility, what to expect at the initial appointment with a physician, fertility tests to determine a diagnosis, treatment options, and financial options for affording fertility care.

"Many people delay seeking help from a fertility specialist with the hope that pregnancy will happen on its own. Our event is intended to educate people about the benefits of seeking help from a fertility specialist sooner, and the importance of early fertility intervention and how it leads to more favorable outcomes," says Dr. Celso Silva who will host the in-person event "What to Expect When You're Not Expecting" at SGF's newest location in Tampa Bay, Florida on Wednesday, October 16 at 6:00 p.m.

When people think of fertility treatment, they immediately assume in vitro fertilization (IVF). While IVF is often not the first line of treatment for patients, many patients do move forward with IVF in their fertility journey as it is among the most effective fertility treatment options due to advances in laboratory and treatment protocols.

"The more our patients understand the IVF process, the less intimidating this treatment option becomes. The biggest takeaway with IVF is that we continue to see improved pregnancy and delivery rates and a decrease in multiple pregnancies. Many couples are able to build their families, even, with just one cycle that offers the chance to freeze embryos for future use," says Dr. Ryan Martin of SGF's Warrington, PA office who will host the IVF webinar on Tuesday, October 9th at noon. Dr. Martin will walk attendees through the entire IVF process from diagnosis, stimulation medication, monitoring, egg retrieval, embryo transfer, to pregnancy.

In the practice's Atlanta region, Dr. Anne Namnoum will host an LGBTQ family planning seminar on Wednesday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m. "SGF has created a comprehensive program for LGBTQ family building where both partners can now be actively involved in the family building process through a range of fertility treatment options," say Dr. Namnoum. During the seminar attendees will learn about LGBTQ family building options that include fertility testing, treatment options such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), IVF, donor egg treatment, gestational carriers, reciprocal/co-IVF, intended father treatment, transgender options, psychological support services, and much more.

While all SGF events are complimentary, interested parties must register to attend by visiting the Shady Grove Fertility calendar of events.
