Steves & Sons Wins Home Depot’s “Millwork Partner of the Year” Award

San Antonio-based Steves & Sons, manufacturers of interior and exterior doors, has been named The Home Depot’s Millwork Partner of the Year. Steves & Sons (www.StevesDoors.com) serves more than 250 Home Depot stores in the southwest, as well as nationally with special order entry systems. The announcement came October 2 at Home Depot’s annual marketing meeting in Atlanta.

This marks the fourth time Steves & Sons has won the award, the first coming in 1999. With interior and exterior door plants in San Antonio and interior door plants in Richmond, Virginia and Lebanon, Tennessee, Steves & Sons employees more than 1,100 associates.

The sixth-generation family-owned company – founded in 1866 – was singled out by Home Depot Vice President of Merchandising Mark Becker for its responsiveness in meeting the rebuilding challenges that came in the wake of hurricane Harvey.

“They are just a fantastic partner,” Becker said. “When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, Steves & Sons was ready to rebuild. They quickly delivered key products like exterior and interior doors to support the massive rebuilding process for thousands of homes. What really is special about Steves & Sons is that they helped The Home Depot put a community back together.”

Troy Terry, general manager of the Home Center Division for Steves & Sons, said, “At Steves, we bleed orange, and, like The Home Depot, we strive to go beyond good and achieve great. We are so honored with this recognition by the world’s largest building material retailer. None of it would have been possible without the unwavering commitment of our 1,100 employees.”

Steves & Sons President Sam Bell Steves II said, “This is huge for us! As our fourth time to win this award, we are incredibly appreciative. This achievement only comes from a continued dedication to our industry and particularly our partners at The Home Depot.”

The Steves family founded the company on the principles of conservative growth and environmental responsibility, Steves said. That hallmark remains today in every item Steves & Sons manufactures. The company incorporates recycled materials and makes products that essentially last as long as the homes where they are installed.

The company continues to build its business and reputation among builders and homeowners across the country with continued emphasis on quality materials, new technology and efficient distribution.
