EarthX Announces First EarthxMéxico November 2 – 11, 2018 in Mexico City

Born and bred in the Lone Star State, EarthX2018, the world’s largest Earth Day celebration, has announced the first-ever EarthxMéxico, November 2 to 11, 2018 in Mexico City. The inaugural EarthxMéxico, the first EarthX event to be hosted outside of Dallas, will be held in Casa del Lago, at the heart of the Bosque de Chapultepec.

Debuting a lecture series and exhibition open to all, EarthxMéxico will broaden the conversation about eco-challenges and their solutions, welcoming academic institutions for all studies of the environment and speakers representing various points of view. A film festival featuring about 15 documentary feature-length and short films from passionate global filmmakers will also be staged concurrently, and will include the world premiere of “Wonders of the Sea” by Jean-Michel Cousteau who will be in attendance at the event.

“The global conversation about our planet has become unnecessarily partisan, which is why EarthX has always striven to bring any and all voices together in the name of our planet,” said Trammell S. Crow, founder of EarthX. “An environmentally-conscious group from Mexico City attended Earthx2018, and set in motion a movement to expand EarthX internationally, thus launching EarthxMéxico. Through the generous support of this pioneering team, as well as collaborators, volunteers, founding partners, strategic allies and sponsors, EarthxMéxico, EarthX’s first international foray, has become a reality. We’re eager to provide a platform for environmental awareness to build a future that helps address environmental issues in Mexico, and ultimately, the world.”

Thematic lines of all EarthxMéxico programming will include oceans, watersheds and cities, biodiversity, education, energy, and summits on both investment and e-capital, consisting of about 40 conversations with international environmental personalities. The exhibition portion will include 120 exhibitors with sustainable proposals, as well as environmental brands and initiatives. Other EarthxMéxico activities will include open-air concerts, public exhibits of organic and sound sculptures, and multiple cultural and artistic experiences to inspire a broadly appealing and more mindful approach to environmental issues.

“We hope EarthxMéxico gathers together the people and institutions concerned about the environment to celebrate progress, hope, and sustainable innovation,” said Juan Carlos Izquierdo, CEO of EarthxMéxico. “We invite everyone – individuals, organizations, companies and the public sector – to join with us in this effort to champion and generate significant changes for the benefit of the planet we all call home.”

The eighth annual EarthX was held April 13 through 22, 2018 in Dallas. The event brought together organizations, businesses, academic institutions, government agencies, speakers, interactive programming, and subject matter experts with food and entertainment. Each year, the event creates a fun and engaging atmosphere for thought and experiential global learning, while encouraging attendees to make positive changes for the environment.
