CLEVELAND, Oct. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyland Healthcare customer, Foundations Health Solutions (FHS) of North Olmstead, Ohio, won gold in the McKnight's Excellence in Technology Awards in the admissions category. The long-term care facility was recognized for its use of OnBase, a leading enterprise information platform, to streamline the admissions process, eliminating 41 manual steps for staff and improving the patient experience.
Foundations Health Solutions uses OnBase to manage the unstructured medical records and automate the business processes involved with patient admissions. The solution leverages capture technology to electronically ingest all preadmission medical records provided by the referral source. This allows the documentation to enter workflows and be routed to the appropriate departments for insurance verification and medical review.
By utilizing OnBase capture technology and its WorkView Case Management Solution, FHS was able to create numerous efficiencies. Electronically capturing the documents prior to admission eliminated the manual task of scanning these documents into a shared file or uploading to an existing repository. Storing the documents in OnBase also allows indexing the document types to the patient level for the current episode of care.
