DynCorp International Awarded $173 Million T-34, T-44 and T-6 Contract Modification

DynCorp International (DI) has received a $173 million modification to an existing contract for T-34, T-44 and T-6 training aircraft support. This program was awarded by the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Orlando, Florida.

The modification will include organizational, intermediate and depot-level maintenance for 16 T-34 Mentors, 54 T-44 Pegasus and 287 T-6 Texan aircraft. The work will be performed at naval air stations in Corpus Christi, Texas and Milton and Pensacola, Florida, as well as other locations across the United States. The contract modification is expected to run through September 2019.

“The T-34, 44 and 6 aircraft are relied upon by the Navy and Marines for developing foundational skills that are integral to a pilot’s future,” said Joe Ford, president of DynAviation. “We are honored to continue our support for this important program.”

The Mentor, Pegasus and Texan II are light turboprop planes used by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps for basic flight training. Their simple design and relatively forgiving flight characteristics allow pilots to learn fundamentals before advancing to more sophisticated aircraft.

“It’s great to see our teams recognized for their excellent support to NAWCTSD, NAVAIR and the Chief of Naval Air Training. We look forward to this continued partnership,” said Jeremy Stanbridge, DI’s program manager.
