PATRIOT Donates over $300K to its Local Community

In honor of the National Day of Giving (#givingtuesday), PATRIOT is pleased to announce the donation of $100,000 to Calvert Family Advocates (CFA), a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the needs of Calvert County. With this donation PATRIOT has collectively contributed $340,000 to CFA throughout the last 5 years. PATRIOT chose CFA to receive the donation knowing that nearly 100% of the proceeds go directly to support those most in need within the community. PATRIOT was founded in Calvert County, MD nearly a decade ago by its two owners, who are both residents of the County. PATRIOT prides itself on being good stewards in the same community where it continues to maintain its current global headquarters.

“We have a social responsibility in doing our part to assist in bettering the lives of those in our own backyard. As a successful business, we feel it is our responsibility to give back to the citizens of our community who are in need,” said Trixi Spiers, PATRIOT’s Director of Public Relations. “PATRIOT would like to encourage other local businesses to follow our lead in supporting charitable organizations who work diligently with local families,” she continued.

Since 2014, more than 650 Calvert County citizens in need have benefited from PATRIOT’s donations to CFA. Summer camp for homeless children, job training for young adults, and support for vulnerable seniors are just a sample of the opportunities created as a result of these donations. PATRIOT’s financial support was also critical to the opening of the Calvert County Child Advocacy Center in July. The center is expected to serve 250 victims of child abuse and neglect each year.

“The impact that PATRIOT has had in Calvert County cannot be overstated. The trauma that children experience when evicted from their homes can last a lifetime. PATRIOT’s donations allow us to prevent evictions, and when coupled with their support of job training, can have a positive effect on families for generations,” said Karen Lane, CFA Chair. “Their support also allows us to assist veterans and seniors of low-income, providing them the respect and dignity they deserve,” she continued.

CFA is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that raises funds to complement efforts by the Calvert County Department of Social Services. Donations to CFA are used to prevent homelessness; remove barriers to self-sufficiency; and address hardships experienced by at-risk youth and seniors. CFA works collaboratively with government agencies, non-profit partners, and local businesses to address these issues that affect every community.
