The Washington, D.C. Auto Show's MobilityTalks International® Conference Registration Now Open

WASHINGTON, Dec. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Online registration is now open for The Washington, D.C. Auto Show's MobilityTalks International® Conference. Held prior to the public opening of the Washington, D.C. Auto show, MobilityTalks will be held April 3 and April 4, 2019, both on Capitol Hill and at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

The focus of the 2019 conference will be on autonomous driving, a critical issue in the automotive industry and one which has garnered wide government and media attention. Policy makers from more than 40 countries around the world are expected to discuss how to regulate this new, critical automotive technology, sometimes described as robot driving or self-driving.

MobilityTalks' theme this year is "Autonomous Driving: New Technology, New Data Privacy Challenges."

Speakers at MobilityTalks will include: Heidi King, National Highway Traffic Safety Acting Administrator; Dr. Kay Stepper, Robert Bosch Vice President of Engineering; Peter Welch, CEO of the National Automobile Dealers Association; Ed Bradley, Program Manager at Toyota; and Jill Ingrassia, AAA Managing Director of Government Relations and Traffic Safety Advocacy, among others.

MobilityTalks attendees will also have access to a sneak peek of the Washington D.C. Auto Show on Thurs., April 4, they day before it opens to the public. The 2019 event will feature the show's first-ever electric vehicle test track, the Electric Drive Experience, presented by EZ-EV and Exelon. Comprised of both an indoor track and an outdoor course on the streets of Washington, D.C., the Electric Drive Experience will allow motorists to ride in electric vehicles and experience their unique characteristics.

The Washington, D.C. Auto Show has become a nexus for meetings related to public policy initiatives and the auto industry. In 2019, other meetings that will take place concurrently with MobilityTalks and/or the show include the United Nations World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP 29), the SAE International Government and Industry Meeting, The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators' (AAMVA) Autonomous Vehicles Roundtable, Autos 2050, the ITS America Conference, the General Services Administration FedFleet Expo, and meetings by the National Science Foundation and the National Safety Council, among others.
