Leading Visual AI Company Clarifai Launches Subsidiary 'Neural Net One' in Washington, D.C. to Serve the Public Sector

NEW YORK, Dec. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Clarifai, the leading visual recognition AI company that uses sophisticated machine learning to identify images and videos, today announced the launch of Neural Net One, a new subsidiary that will focus on Clarifai's work with the public sector. Neural Net One will be based in Clarifai's newly opened Washington, D.C. metro area office, the company's third office to date (in addition to its New York headquarters and San Francisco office), and led by Sean Alger, General Manager of Public Sector.

The use of Clarifai's visual recognition in the public sector will allow agencies and personnel across various divisions to rapidly scale their operations, enhance security processes and increase operational efficiencies. The public sector use cases of Clarifai's visual recognition are extensive and virtually unlimited: recognizing and tracking people of interest (e.g. a missing person or child); finding victims in disaster zones, tracking and detecting objects via aerial and satellite imagery; enhancing security at border crossings and airports, and more.

As technological progress ensures a better future for everyone by improving global standards of living, Clarifai is proud to offer its award-winning technology to help address some of the country's most pressing needs.

"Artificial intelligence is progressing at a dizzying pace, and 10 years from now it will have a profound effect on every aspect of our daily lives, from smart cities and autonomous cars, to security and public safety," said Matt Zeiler, Clarifai founder and CEO. "At Clarifai we believe we have a responsibility to apply our specialized expertise for the betterment of humanity. Our work with Neural Net One will help the U.S. lead the world with developing AI applications to protect our global community."

Sean Alger brings to Clarifai more than 20 years of experience working in sales across federal contracts. As General Manager of Public Sector, Alger will focus on building out the federal, state and local presence for Clarifai to include both sales and delivery. Prior to Clarifai, Alger served as Director of Federal Sales at ServiceNow, an enterprise-focused cloud services platform. His experience also spans executive-level roles for public sector sales at companies including Kofax, TIBCO Software, Teradata, and more.

"Clarifai's technology is uniquely positioned to equip government agencies and service members with the ability to better protect the lives of our citizens in a myriad of ways," said Alger. "The applications developed by Neural Net One's seasoned team will save countless lives, whether by identifying people or infrastructure at risk during natural disasters, or using the technology to ensure our family members return safely home from service."

The launch of Neural Net One in Clarifai's Washington, D.C. office, which now has 11 employees, coincides with significant milestones and growth within the company. In the past year, the Clarifai team has almost doubled its headcount in the U.S. with offices in NYC, D.C., and San Francisco. Clarifai also recently expanded its New York headquarters with a new high-rise office suite near the city's iconic Union Square Park, and expanded its San Francisco office with more space to accommodate new hires.
