AECT Partners with NATO ACT to Deliver Educational Resources

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloomington-based Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) announced a strategic partnership with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) - Allied Command Transformation (ACT). The agreement provides NATO ACT with access to AECT's extensive catalog of videos and publications targeting those who deliver educational courses online.

"NATO has a very strong educational mission for our members," said Salih Cem Kumsal, NATO ACT's Staff Officer for training technologies management. "NATO's Allied Command Transformation leads NATO's Education and Training. We need strong partnerships in order to accomplish that mission."

NATO provides a growing catalog of 120 courses to its more than 20,000 members. Most of these courses are delivered online and accessed by members in the field.

"We are delighted to partner with NATO ACT on this important aspect of their mission," said AECT Executive Director, Dr. Phillip Harris. "Providing access to our many targeted materials - including journals, videos and our annual international convention - will enhance NATO's ability to achieve the educational aspect of their mission."

The initial partnership is for three years, with a focus on providing access to research summaries and selected topics in instructional design and learning effectiveness.
