Ultimate Medical Academy to Sponsor and Participate at the 2019 Synapse Summit in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 22, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Ultimate Medical Academy, a nonprofit healthcare educational institution employing more than 2,000 people in the Tampa Bay area, is pleased to sponsor and participate in the upcoming Synapse Summit, which is focused on highlighting Tampa Bay's and Florida's strong growth in the areas of innovation and technology.

The 2019 Synapse Summit on Jan. 23-24 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa endeavors to bring together the best people, ideas, and technologies for two days of collaborating, exploring, and celebrating the possibilities of technology and innovation.

At the summit several UMA leaders will share how UMA is an innovator in training people for healthcare careers and partners with key business allies to develop highly skilled employees.

    --  UMA President Derek Apanovitch will speak at the summit's Fueling the
        Talent Pipeline in Healthcare and Cybersecurity forum at 11 a.m. on
        Wednesday, Jan. 23. Apanovitch will speak to the growing healthcare
        talent gap, and how UMA is actively working to meet the challenge of
        filling healthcare occupations which according to the U.S. Bureau of
        Labor Statistics are projected to grow 18 percent from 2016 to 2026,
        much faster than the average of all occupations, adding about 2.4
        million new jobs.
    --  UMA Senior Vice President April Neumann will speak at the A Corporate
        Take on Healthcare Innovation forum at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24.
    --  UMA Chief Information Officer Jeremy Wilson and UMA Senior Vice
        President of Strategic Initiatives Alexandra Schaffrath will speak at
        the Enterprise Innovation forum at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24. Wilson
        serves on the Synapse Board of Directors.

The sponsorship is part of UMA's community involvement activities and support of attracting entrepreneurial and technology companies, as well as the best talent, to the Tampa Bay area.
