LafargeHolcim Expands Footprint in Colorado through Acquisition of Transit Mix Concrete Co.

Today, LafargeHolcim acquired the assets of Transit Mix Concrete Co., a leading supplier of building materials in Colorado and subsidiary of Continental Materials Corporation, for $27 million.

LafargeHolcim takes ownership of the Transit Mix ready-mix operations and the Daniels Sand Quarry, all of which are located in and around Colorado Springs and Pueblo, Colorado. Transit Mix recorded adjusted revenues of $63 million in 2017 and has more than 180 employees.

“For many years Colorado has been a dynamic and growing market, and Transit Mix Concrete Co. has been a part of that growth. They are the largest construction materials producer in the Southern Front Range, and this is a great opportunity to expand our business in Colorado,” said René Thibault, Region Head North America and Interim CEO for LafargeHolcim’s US Aggregates & Construction Materials business. “I’d like to welcome all Transit Mix Concrete employees to our company.”

Founded in 1945, Transit Mix Concrete Co. will continue to operate under its current name. This is the third acquisition for LafargeHolcim in the past seven months and the second in Colorado.
