GreatSchools.org Appoints a New Chief Executive Officer
OAKLAND, Calif., Feb. 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- GreatSchools today announced education leader Jon Deane will become its new Chief Executive Officer. Jon will take charge at the nation's leading nonprofit organization reaching America's parents with essential information on education. Last year, over 43 million users came to GreatSchools.org to understand how schools are serving their children based on multiple measures of quality and for parenting support content to help guide the educational success of their child. Jon comes to GreatSchools after a long track-record as a leader in education innovation, most recently at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, where he served as Director of Education.

Jon started his career in business, building a foundation for his leadership in and service to innovative education organizations. His record of success began in the classroom as a high school math teacher and led to serving as principal and administrative leader of high performing schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. At the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Jon led work on innovative new school models and supporting evidence-based education improvement, developing a deep understanding and connection to what educational success can look like.
Jon holds a masters degree in education from Stanford University where he also earned an undergraduate degree in economics. He will begin as CEO of GreatSchools on April 1.
