Van Ness Feldman Expands Natural Resources/Land Use Practice with Two Lawyers from Stoel Rives

Van Ness Feldman is pleased to announce the addition of Partner Erin Anderson and Of Counsel Sara Leverette to the firm’s powerhouse Land Use and Natural Resources team in Seattle.

A former partner in the Environment, Land Use & Natural Resources practice at Stoel Rives, Ms. Anderson advises clients in the permitting, development, and operation of major capital facilities, with a particular focus on energy generation, conversion, and transmission. Bringing over 25 years’ experience working with a wide-range of energy clients in all aspects of local, state, and federal permitting matters, Ms. Anderson will bolster Van Ness Feldman’s strong environmental and land use practices and add significant depth to the firm’s strategic capabilities.

“Both Erin’s & Sara’s experience brings additional depth and expertise to our Pacific Northwest clients—they have a significant understanding of the unique challenges inherent in permitting developments throughout our region. Having worked alongside them throughout their careers, we are honored to have them join our team,” said Jay Derr, Managing Partner of the Seattle Office.

Sara Leverette, formerly an associate in the natural resources and land use practices at Stoel Rives, joins the firm as Of Counsel. Ms. Leverette advises clients on permitting and litigation related to energy infrastructure development, clean-up sites and dangerous waste permitting. She has experience with issues related to utility permitting; endangered species; the Washington State and National Environmental Policy acts; the Model Toxics Control Act; clean water; complex environmental litigation; and environmental, health and safety compliance matters in Alaska and Washington State.

Richard Agnew, Chairman of Van Ness Feldman, commented, “We are pleased that Ms. Anderson and Ms. Leverette have joined our exceptional team of environmental and land use lawyers. These additions allow the firm to better represent the firm’s diverse clientele in the Pacific Northwest and throughout the country.”

Both Ms. Anderson and Ms. Leverette received their JDs from the University of Washington School of Law. They can be reached at eanderson@vnf.com and sleverette@vnf.com or 206-623-9372.
