Former White House Senior Advisor and Amazon Web Services Leader Frank DiGiammarino Joins Booz Allen

Booz Allen Hamilton announced today that Frank DiGiammarino, a recognized expert, author, and thought leader on digital transformation, has joined Booz Allen as an executive vice president to lead innovation strategy for the firm. As a seasoned technology leader, DiGiammarino has a proven track record of enabling change in the digital era across public, private and academic sectors. Through positions held at the White House, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Georgetown’s Beeck Center for Social Impact and Innovation, Frank’s career has been defined by a desire to change the government’s ability to drive a positive impact.

In his new role, DiGiammarino will bring connectivity and integration to Booz Allen’s innovation ecosystem to digitally transform the way federal agencies deliver outcome-driven and people-centric services. DiGiammarino joins as Booz Allen continues to advance its commitment to bringing bold thinking, game-changing technology solutions and new business models to the government. His efforts will further support a full spectrum of clients from Recreation.gov, as it adapts to consumers’ mobile and dynamic lifestyle by delivering a modern, mobile-friendly way to reserve campsites at America’s national parks, to Dell, as it develops breakthrough solutions like District Defend, a location-aware secure mobility solution that uses patented security protocols to make the management of mobile devices in highly sensitive and classified environments easier and less complicated.

“Booz Allen’s unique approach to innovation leverages the firm’s expertise to deconstruct a problem to its core and bring together talent within and outside our firm to help find the right solution,” said Susan Penfield, Chief Innovation Officer, and Booz Allen’s Strategic Innovation Group Lead. “Frank’s impact-driven mindset and passion for driving transformational change to better solve society’s most complex problems will deepen how we analyze, collaborate and bring solutions to our clients.”

Before joining the firm, DiGiammarino was a Senior Fellow at the Beeck Center for Social Impact and Innovation at Georgetown University, and a Co-Founder of and Adviser to Accelerated Digital Ventures, a sustainable investment engine. He has served as the Director of U.S. State and Local Government for the World Wide Public Sector division as well as the Head of Global Expansion at AWS. As an advisor to former Vice President Joe Biden on the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act under the Obama Administration, he coordinated the disbursement of $787 billion to speed economic recovery after the Great Recession.
