PetScreening.com Announces Release of Version 2.0

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 26, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- PetScreening.com, a first-of-its-kind screening platform that empowers property managers to outsource their pet risk assessment and assistance animal validation processes at no charge, announced it has released its Version 2.0 enhancements to the proprietary platform.

The recent product update provides a new process for non-pet owning residents. It's simple and free while providing the property manager a formalized acknowledgment of non-pet owner related policies such as no pet visiting or pet sitting. This reduces the property manager's risks and costs associated with unauthorized pets.

Applicants with pets pay a nominal fee and input information about their specific pet into the only centralized pet screening database in the world to analyze rental housing-related risk. In return, the pet owner receives a 12-month license to share their profiles with pet groomers, daycares, other landlords, and more.

Any resident prospect seeking to submit a reasonable accommodation request for an assistance animal (service/emotional support/companion) are submitted through the platform at no charge to the property manager and the requester. PetScreening.com's in-house legal review team individually reviews each accommodation request to ensure it complies with FHAct guidelines. This standardizes the property manager's review process, saves time, and helps mitigate liability for a possible discrimination complaint.

The enhancements also enable property managers to create a customizable pet and animal policy landing page and subdomain URL with a white-labeled pet policy application experience for their residents. This features the property manager's brand throughout the process. Property managers also have the ability to upload their specific pet and animal policies, community pet perks, and required addenda, if any, into the platform.

"Whether your residents are household pet owners, seeking an accommodation request for an assistance animal, or simply don't own a pet, you still want everyone to acknowledge your pet and animal policies to create the most pet-friendly, and accountable, living experience possible for all residents," said John R. Bradford, founder of PetScreening.com. "We believe Version 2.0 will take PetScreening.com to the next level for property managers by serving as their pet policy partner. We help ensure every pet and pet owner is screened for housing-related risk and assistance animals are consistently and securely validated per the FHAct guidelines. In turn, our service holds all residents more accountable while helping property managers mitigate their liability, save valuable time, and increase pet-related revenue commensurate with their risk."

The enhancements build upon a nationwide platform that, in the last 12-months alone, has screened more than 30,000 household pets. PetScreening has also reviewed more than 3,500 reasonable accommodation requests for assistance animals while capturing critical liability data that has helped property managers better manage their pet-related risks across more than half a million units. The platform serves as the industry's only end-to-end pet screening solution that adds an extra layer of liability protection, validates animal assistance accommodation requests and generates a proprietary FIDO Score, among additional features.

The FIDO Score offers a simple way to comprehensively assess the housing-related risk of allowing a specific pet, to live at a rental property. It measures a variety of pet-specific characteristics and behaviors as well as the pet owner's responsibility level. The algorithm produces a "0-to-5 Paw" FIDO Score, which helps rental-housing operators and property managers make better-informed acceptance decisions and create more accurate pet-pricing policies for the betterment of the community. The "0-Paw" FIDO Score is new in this version release and is fully customizable by the property manager to match their pet dog breed, weight and age restrictions, if any. A "0-Paw" FIDO Score can be assessed, for example, if a property manager only allows dogs 12-months and older and the dog being evaluated is only 4-months old.

Various additional features have been added via Version 2.0 and can be viewed in a video that comprehensively explains the updates. Questions can be addressed to info@petscreening.com.
