Hornetsecurity honored again with InfoSec award

PITTSBURGH, March 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Hornetsecurity has won a Cyber Defense Magazine InfoSec Award for its innovation in cybersecurity, marking the second straight year the cloud security company has been honored by the publication.

Hornetsecurity CEO Oliver Dehning received the Most Innovative Saas/Cloud Security Award during the 2019 RSA Conference in San Francisco on March 4, 2019. Last year, the Germany-based company received a Cutting-Edge Award in the category of Advanced Persistent Threat.

"While nation-state exploitation, cybercrime, cyberespionage, ransomware and malware exploits are all on the rise, Hornetsecurity has been forward-thinking and a leader in pushing back that tide," said Gary S. Miliefsky, publisher of Cyber Defense Magazine. "After we reviewed nearly 3,000 InfoSec companies across the globe, they were selected because they are a company successfully innovating to stop breaches and getting one step ahead of these threats."

The award comes not long after Hornetsecurity released its newest product, 365 Total Protection, a security and compliance suite specially developed for Microsoft Office 365's cloud services. It uses artificial intelligence to protect companies and to ensure companies are in step with European regulations and any future domestic rules.

"For years, we have focused on cloud-based solutions for email security, including using artificial intelligence as a tool to break new ground," Dehning said. "What this award says is we're on the right track, and we have consistently been able to develop effective products that address this area of cybersecurity. It's a testament to the important and successful work done by our employees around the world."

Hornetsecurity, which will be in booth 5671/2 at the RSA Conference, has a U.S. headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pa. The company also recently acquired Spanish email security leader Spamina.
