L-com Debuts New Line of Dual-Rated Slim-Line Ethernet Cables with Spline-Free Design and UL CM Burn Rating
IRVINE, Calif., March 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- L-com, an Infinite Electronics brand, and a preferred manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, announced today that it has introduced a new line of dual-rated, slim-line Ethernet cable assemblies and bulk cables that are ideal for high-speed data center applications or any dense patching application.
L-com's slim-line Ethernet cables feature 28AWG stranded conductors and a patent-pending, spline-free design that provides a 38% smaller cross sectional area when compared to a standard sized cable. This design is a perfect solution for applications that require a smaller and more flexible cable as it promotes air flow and reduces stress in dense patching applications. With Cat6 and Cat6a ratings, these cables support data rates up to 1 Gbps or 10 Gbps for demanding, high-speed voice, video and data applications. Plus, they are offered with two unique jacket options that both carry a UL CM burn rating: Riser (CMR)-rated PVC or dual-rated CM low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH), for applications where PVC is not allowed.
"Not only do these slim-line cables deliver 33% reduction in weight compared to standard cables, they provide full Cat6 and Cat6a performance and are best of both worlds with a Riser-rated PVC jacket or a certified burn rating on an LSZH cable," said Dustin Guttadauro, Product Manager.
The low-profile, short boot design of these cables saves additional space on your patch panel allowing for a clean organized look to patch bays. They are constructed with high performance RJ45 plugs with molded boots and 50u gold plated contacts. Category 6 options are unshielded and Category 6a options are foil shielded. Operating temperature range for all models is -20°C to 75°C. The cable assemblies in this line are available in lengths from 1ft. to 20 ft., the bulk cable is offered in 1,000-foot lengths.
