DHS Leaders to Discuss Innovation at Homeland Security & Defense Business Council Event

The Homeland Security & Defense Business Council (Council) will host a National Conversation on The Promise of Innovation in the Homeland Security Enterprise on MONDAY, MARCH 11TH at 2:30 P.M. in Tysons, VA. The program will feature a series of moderated conversations with leaders from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), who will address the challenges and opportunities surrounding innovation in the Homeland Security Enterprise. Speakers will discuss the processes and initiatives driving (and impeding) innovation at DHS; the application of innovative technologies and products to current and future operations; and the role the private sector plays in carrying out the mission.

The Council will also release the fourth annual 20/20 Project on the State of the Homeland Security Enterprise Report at the event. The 2019 report assesses and presents recommendations surrounding the promise of innovation and the pain of bid protests in federal government acquisitions supporting the homeland security mission. Principals from the Council and Grant Thornton LLP, a Council member and pro bono Project leader, will provide an analysis of the results from focus groups and an online survey that involved more than 200 current and former government officials and industry executives.
