Architectural Students Across the UAE Join AED 10,000 Challenge

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, March 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Architecture students across the United Arab Emirates join the "Giving Back To The Community" challenge presented by P&T Group, a pioneer in architecture and building design, in celebration of the firm's 150 years anniversary and 15 years in the United Arab Emirates.

More than 50 participants from the country's top universities, including the American University of Sharjah, Canadian University Dubai, United Arab Emirates University, University of Sharjah, Ajman University and Al Ghurair University, have joined the challenge to present architectural ideas that respond to the current and future needs of UAE's environment that are both affordable and desirable. "P&T competition challenges the next generation of creative thinkers in the UAE to find solutions appropriate to their time and place in history," said Andrij Rostek P&T Group Director. The evaluation criteria upon which the students will be judged includes form, function, innovation, environmental and sustainable solutions and presentation.

The challenge, whose winners will be announced in a special ceremony to be held on 18 April, 2019, will grant the first place winner an internship and a possibility of a permanent position at the company along with a cash prize of AED 10,000, while the second and third place winners will receive AED 6,000 and AED 4,000 respectively.

In efforts to encourage designs that are in line with the UAE's "Smart City" initiative, P&T will submit the winning or most suitable design to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart Majlis, while maintaining the copyrights of the idea to the students.

The competition is organised by P&T in collaboration with Dubai Airport Freezone Authority, Society of Engineers- UAE and in support of 2021 Dubai Plan, 10X Dubai, Smart Dubai, Youth Hub, 2071 and Dewa 2050.
