Erick Sermon's 8th studio Album "Vernia" Released

NEW YORK, April 27, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Erick Sermon just released his eighth solo album, Vernia. At his Def Squad Studios creative space and office in Long Island, New York, the EPMD co-founder recently detailed his LP featuring Raekwon, N.O.R.E., Too Short, Devin The Dude, No Malice, Big K.R.I.T., Pharrell, Styles P, AZ, Shaquille O'Neal, Xzibit, Keith Murray, Nature, and David Banner, among others. Originally titled Go when first announced, E-Double recently told Ambrosia For Heads' AFH TV why he asked his fans for support and how The independent LP evolved to honor Erick's late grandmother and best friend. That video interview is currently available for all to view.

In 2019, the Green-Eyed Bandit is here to take back Hip-Hop. "The Game," featuring AZ and Styles P, explains how Erick has successfully navigated the industry, with jewels to offer the new class. However, Rap's reigning Robin Hood has an even louder message: he's a legendary producer, but he wants all to recognize that he is just as groundbreaking on the microphone. Erick created a viral moment with his bars in 2015's BET Hip Hop Awards cypher alongside Def Squad band-mates and star pupils Redman and Keith Murray. One of Rap's pioneering producer-MCs does not believe he gets proper credit as a rapper, and he has a bone to pick about it. "My Style," with Raekwon and N.O.R.E., owns Erick's place as an influencer.

"Nina Simone said, 'You are obligated to say something as a musician if something's going on around you.' While this world is going through whatever, I wrote about it in these songs," Erick says of Vernia. In addition to the Funk Lord's legendary production, Rockwild, Battlecat, Apathy, and Boogeyman are hand-picked guest producers. Apart from Vernia, Erick is in the busiest season of his career. He has Def Rugs, a Ewing Athletics sneaker partnership with EPMD, and a musical compound on Long Island. E-Double is already planning. In addition to an upcoming eighth album from Erick and Parish Smith, Sermon has a Big Business concept album featuring all groups with two MCs. "I'm already seven songs deep on that: Heltah Skeltah, Mobb Deep, Capone-N-Noreaga, Smif-n-Wessun, De La Soul, Dilated Peoples, Black Star, Das EFX, EPMD, Red' & Meth'. It's 24 songs: volume 1, volume 2. It's the scariest thing you want to hear in your life, 'cause no one would ever think somebody could do something like that," Erick tells AFH TV while playing some snippets.

Erick Sermon has made Hip-Hop his business for more than 30 years. This living legend still finds incredible pleasure in making music.
