InsureTech Connect and Gamma Iota Sigma Announce the Second Annual Student Program to Advance Collegiate Insurtech Involvement

YARDLEY, Pa., May 16, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- InsureTech Connect (ITC) and Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) announce the opening of the ITC 2019 Student Program, a scholarship for highly motivated college and university students exploring and pursuing careers that advance the insurance industry through technology.

Up to 20 students from any school may be awarded this unique scholarship, which consists of paid registration and accommodations to attend the InsureTech Connect 2019 conference in Las Vegas September 23 - 25, 2019. The program, which has doubled in size since its inception last year, provides meaningful exposure for students to learn about the latest trends and opportunities while networking with the leading minds in insurance innovation and digital transformation from across the globe.

"After the great success of the inaugural ITC 2018 Student Program, we are doubling our outreach in 2019," said Samara Jaffe, Managing Director of ITC. "The competition for talent is a challenge facing industry executives and startup founders alike, and this program provides a forum to inspire the best and brightest young minds to choose a career in insurance."

Partnering with GIS - the insurance industry's premier collegiate talent pipeline for students of all majors - has allowed for the development of a pre-professional continuum to drive exposure to over 5,000 students at a growing network of 87 colleges and universities, affording a direct and diverse recruiting and training line to the insurtech field.

Gamma Iota Sigma CEO Noelle Codispoti said, "The ITC-GIS partnership is a lynchpin in sustainable talent engagement and a prime example of innovative industry collaboration to really get at the core of a talent solution. The ITC 2019 Student Program is a tremendous opportunity to gain an early foothold in a burgeoning segment of the industry and build critical networks. GIS is committed to bringing the full spectrum of opportunities the industry has to offer to students everywhere, with the belief that widespread exposure is critical to a robust and diverse talent pipeline and ultimately workforce. We're thrilled with the interest and growth this program and partnership have catalyzed."

GIS presents a number of core programs to expose students to the breadth of opportunities available in the industry and prepare them for their careers, from the Annual International Conference, now in its 48th year and featuring the largest career fair of its kind, to expansive outreach efforts to maximize student engagement through its One Campus at A Time initiative and interactive diversity and inclusion programs put on by the student- and young alumni-led GammaSAID Council.

Submissions for the ITC 2019 Student Program will be accepted through July 1, 2019, and applicants will be notified by July 29, 2019. Students may nominate themselves, or industry representatives and faculty advisors have the opportunity to nominate a student who is passionate about a career in the insurance industry and who would benefit from participation in the ITC conference.
