BALTIMORE & CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 4, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Traffic Group, Inc. (TTG) - one of the nation's leading traffic engineering and transportation planning firms - has expanded operations to North Carolina under the name The Traffic Group of NC, PLLC, an associated entity.

Headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, The Traffic Group has set up operations in Charlotte. Mickey Cornelius, P.E., PTOE, RSP, one of the first certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineers (PTOE) and Road Safety Professionals (RSP) in the nation heads the North Carolina office operations.

"The Traffic Group saw the same kind of opportunities for growth in North Carolina as Chief Executive Magazine, which recently ranked it as one of the top-performing states in the nation," says Wes Guckert, PTP, President & CEO of The Traffic Group.

"North Carolina's business-friendly climate, combined with its impressive infrastructure, including access to premier engineering talent from area universities, were all major factors in our decision to expand here," Guckert continues. "In addition, multiple existing clients have asked us to open a North Carolina operation in order to coordinate new work with us."

Two Fortune 500 companies - Honeywell and Advance Auto Parts - relocated their corporate headquarters to North Carolina in the past year, adding nearly 1,200 new jobs. In 2018, the state posted its second-best year in a decade for the number of new jobs attached to state-supported project wins, totaling 19,541.

The Traffic Group of NC, PLLC anticipates adding traffic engineers and support staff to its Charlotte office.
