Although he was successful in the corporate world, Spell was looking for a change.

I was traveling too much - it was more surprising to my 11-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter when I was home than I was traveling. I also found that while I was helping companies grow and make more money, that wasn't making a difference for me, my team or my community. I decided, if I was going to work that hard, I should work for myself and have a business that could make a difference for people in this community," Spell said.
Spell's journey to TruBlue started one day while he was working from home. He had always been interested in working in real estate in some way and, while Spell sat in his office that day, he noticed his neighbor had three different contractors come to the house.
"I thought 'Wow, he had to coordinate with three companies to get this work done. Wouldn't it be nice if he could have just called one company?' I realized that might be a business opportunity, which is eventually what led to TruBlue," Spell said.
