Echodyne to Present on Countering Drones at APSA Public Safety Drone Expo

Echodyne, the manufacturer of innovative, high-performance radars for government and commercial markets, announced today that its VP of Product, William (Bill) Graves, Jr., will lead a session titled “Countering Drones – A Comprehensive Review” at the Airborne Public Safety Association’s (APSA) Public Safety Drone Expo 2019 on October 10th. The event is being held in Columbus, OH. APSA is a non-profit, educational organization that supports and encourages the use of aircraft in public safety.

Public safety personnel are one of the largest groups of drone users in the United States, flying thousands of public missions that make a difference in communities nationwide. Local law enforcement is also responsible for protecting the public from unauthorized drone use at outdoor events and public spaces. When used in a public safety environment, Echodyne’s radars offer unprecedented levels of 3D security, offering the equivalent of high-performance phased array sensor capabilities in compact form for easy mobility and at a manageable cost for commercial applications.

“Echodyne is pleased to present a comprehensive view of drones in the public airspace to the APSA audience,” said Bill Graves, VP of Product for Echodyne. “Unmanned aircraft can be a great benefit for public safety personnel, but they can also be dangerous if put in the wrong hands. Maintaining safety in the airspace requires new tools and technologies, and we’re happy to share our knowledge with APSA and the men and women on the front lines using drones responsibly and enforcing drone laws.”
