19 veteran families and counting receive life-changing gift of independence thanks to small businesses nationwide

Our country’s bravest take on some of the most dangerous situations while defending our country, but many of them come home only to battle with everyday tasks, such as bathing. It’s for this reason, nearly a dozen home improvement companies banded together to alleviate this stress for our nation's heroes. This year marks the third annual Baths for the Brave, a one-day event planned for Friday, Nov. 8. This event provides veterans with a brand-new tub or shower system, free of charge, to improve their quality of life.

“Baths for the Brave is an incredible event changing the lives of veterans across the country,” Brian Gottlieb, president and owner of Tundraland Home Improvements and founder of Baths for the Brave, said. “This is the third year for this event and to date, we’ve improved the lives of 19 veterans and that number is only going to increase this year.”

Baths for the Brave stemmed from a similar initiative Gottlieb and his team at Tundraland created locally in their hometown, near Green Bay, Wisconsin, called Tundraland Cares. Through that program, Gottlieb provides veterans in need and deserving families with remodeled bathrooms, standing wheelchairs and family vacations to Disney World, all free of charge.
